I’m super pumped to share with y’all the Forever Floatride Grow - Reebok’s first plant-based performance running shoe! First of all, finding sustainably-made sneakers sans the traditional plastic is a tricky one. Add on top of that, finding ones that actually hold up and FEEL GOOD on runs and during high-intensity workouts… that’s a whole other can of worms.
When Reebok reached out to partner on this launch, I was really freakin’ stoked to put these shoes to the test. And you betcha I tested it. I wore it out and about for errands, for trail running, longboarding, and morning walks with my doggos. They are as comfortable as can be, and I love how sleek they look even with regular street style.
Each component of the Forever Floatride Grow was researched and tested to ensure they were the most sustainable natural ingredients that could be used while still meeting the high-performance standards required for a running shoe.
These kicks are made with a eucalyptus tree upper which is strong and breathable and naturally biodegradable, a responsive midsole made from sustainably grown castor beans, a sockliner utilizing BLOOM algae which is used as a natural odor resistant, and a rubber outsole that is sustainably sourced from real rubber trees as opposed to the petroleum-based rubber you find in most performance products.
The Forever Floatride Grow is just the latest example of Reebok’s commitment to reduce the use of petroleum-based plastics in footwear and create non-compromising, high performing sustainable products for all. This is just the latest example of Reebok’s commitment to reduce the use of petroleum-based plastics in footwear.
Cheers to big brands using their power + committing to impactful strides forward!
